Report RSE 18000012

Characterization of innovative materials and components

The report summarizes the results of the activities aimed at the characterization with innovative methods of HTLS conductors with nuclei in non-metallic materials and insulators in the presence of silicone coatings.

The report summarizes the results of the activities carried out as part of the project "Components and equipment for networks" aimed at the characterizations performed on HTLS conductors with nuclei in non-metallic materials and on insulators in new silicone materials and taken from the exercise.

In particular the activities were the following:
The definition of test protocols and the characterization of HTLS conductors with innovative nuclei of non-metallic material (Kevlar cores and carbon fibers with trapezoidal elemental wires).
The characterization in laboratory of new and taken from the exercise insulators by means of application of RSE test protocols used in the field and developed for isolators removed from the field.
