The web meeting, titled “ Over-capacity, diversification or storage: Where are the thresholds that maximise flexibility in RES-based systems?”, was organized in the frame of the Integrated Electricity System Coordination Group (IESCG) of the End-Use Working Party (EUWP) of the IEA, coordinated by RSE.  more

InnoGrid: annual conference of the European association of distribution network operators

InnoGrid is the conference organized annually by the European association of distribution network operators E.DSO and by the association of European transmission system operators ENTSO-E. The purpose of the conference is to highlight the new findings on electricity grids that emerge from research and innovation activities, and, in particular, from European research projects funded under the Horizon2020 framework program.  more

ERIGrid-related webinar to be held on 16th November to study the future of smart grids

Conventional power systems are being turned into cybernetic ones. A project involving 18 European research centers aims to develop methods to analyze, assess and validate complex cyber-physical systems through an integrated approach. RSE coordinated a specific work package under the project.  more


Wind energy: international experts meet to discuss emerging R&D topics

On November 14th and 15th Rome will host the Wind plant decommissioning, repowering, recycling meeting, organized by RSE and GSE in the frame of IEA WIND TCP. In particular, Countries interested in this topic, such as Italy,were pioneers in the exploitation of wind energy and are now managing a significant number of plants that already reached or will soon reach their end of life.  more


For the third time EU Project Coordinator!

After the success of the SmartNet project, RSE will be coordinator of the new Horizon2020 project. The project coordinating person will be Gianluigi Migliavacca, who coordinated SmartNet as well.  more


SMART GRIDS Save the Date – the Mission Innovation Challenge 1 (IC1) lands in Vancouver

Preparations are in full swing for the events to be held in the Canadian city on May 27-31 in the framework of the 10th Clean Energy and the 4th Mission Innovation Ministerials - CEM10 and MI4. Mandated by the Italian Ministry of Economic Development to co-lead the Innovation Challenge 1 on Smart Grids with India and China, RSE will reaffirm the commitment and international importance of Italian excellence in this field.  more
