Through these measurements it is also possible to obtain indications of the level of alteration of the initial characteristics of massive materials and\/or coatings as a function of exposure to high temperatures or other agents potentially capable of promoting their degradation.<\/p>\n<p>There is also an active thermography system for performing non-destructive tests aimed at assessing the state of integrity of real samples and components.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, within the same laboratory, there are two facilities for solid particulate erosion wear testing (up to 700\u00b0C) and droplet erosion wear testing, which allow tests to be performed under conditions representative of the plant. To support these and other studies, a stylus profilometer capable of making two-dimensional morphological maps of surfaces is available. In particular, it should be noted that solid particulate erosion is present in all major types of power generation plant.
