Simone Maggiore of RSE Energy Systems Development Department is a contributor to the article. The analysis was developed within the IEA, in which Simone participates as an Italian representative in some Technology Collaboration Programs.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This article explores the rationale behind the current trends toward a more decentralized electricity system, analyzing the various emerging initiatives in the energy system under the pressure of citizens and their values.
