In addition to the cables themselves, their cooling systems and cable protection components will be developed, including a high current superconducting fault current limiting module (SFCL). SCARLET also includes a feasibility study regarding elpipes, large section metal pipes proposed for the transmission of high-power electrical energy at room temperature.<\/p>\n<p>SCARLET brings together the main European industrial players developing superconducting cables, including Nexans (France \/ Germany) for HTS cables, ASG (Italy) for MgB2 cables and SuperNode (Ireland) for offshore cables.
