Energy from the sea is the next frontier in electricity generation from renewables. In Europe alone, the ocean energy industry plans to reach 100 GW of generating capacity by 2050, covering 10 percent of electricity demand. Distributing 100 GW of energy from marine sources will also mean creating a new industrial sector in Europe, with over 400,000 skilled jobs throughout the supply chain (OEE2018).<\/p>\n
This is the context for this research project (2019-2021), which has continuity with that which was covered in the previous System Research period (2015-2018) and also adds innovative aspects aimed at facilitating the implementation of marine renewable energy sources in Italy.<\/p>\n
The project will focus on two specific topics that fit perfectly with those indicated in Theme 1.8 Electricity from the Sea of the Three-year Plan (Italian Ministry of Economic Development – MiSE, 9 August 2019).<\/p>\n
Specifically:
\n– Wave Generation Device Development
\n– Actual producibility, environmental compatibility and resource measurements<\/p>\n
Regarding the first topic, studies will be carried out aimed at optimise the energy production of WaveSAX device and decrease construction and maintenance costs to promote LCoE reduction.<\/p>\n
The second topic will focus on environmental aspects and the regulatory framework for the exploitation of the marine resource, on criteria for the identification of marine areas potentially suitable for the installation of the different devices, and the evaluation of the potential of effective producibility from marine and wind sources along the Italian coast (also based on measurements made at sea in the MOBI buoy located in the southwestern coast of Sicily).<\/p>\n","scarica_file":false,"link_estreno":false,"button":{"text":"","link":""},"acronimo":"Sea4Energy","referente_group":[{"referente_utente":{"value":"Maximo.Peviani@rse-web.it","label":"Maximo Aurelio Peviani"}}],"data_emissione":"2019-01-01","autori":"","durata":"36","rif_rse":""},"satellite_post_url":"","dont_show_hompage":true},"yoast_head":"\n
