Additionally, cloud base height is useful for short-term solar radiation forecasting.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Since cloud movements primarily affect solar irradiance availability, their characterization is crucial for solar energy applications; accurate estimation of ground shading requires knowledge of cloud height and extent. In this study, cloud base height is estimated from sky images captured by a single All Sky Imager.
