In this context, state estimation of the grid is crucial for online monitoring and control. Efficient and accurate state estimation is essential for optimal management of the future electrical grid.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The development of low-cost Phasor Measurement Units (PMUs) designed for the distribution grid can enhance system observability. However, installing PMUs at every node of the grid is not feasible due to high costs. This necessitates determining the optimal PMU placement to maintain system observability with a minimal number of measurements. Yet, few studies demonstrate the effect of different PMU placements in a real-world environment.
