Measuring the circularity and environmental sustainability of actions taken is essential for achieving the set objectives. In this context, the study contributes to the literature by proposing a metric to measure the level of circularity of the Italian power system that integrates environmental sustainability indicators evaluated through the Life Cycle Assessment methodology. The tool has enabled the measurement of the circularity level of electricity generation in Italy and highlighted priority areas for operation.
