To obtain such performances, the current value is usually controlled by hysteresis regulators. This control is very robust but, due to inevitable hardware limitations, delays and inaccuracies can occur; the set thresholds can therefore be systematically exceeded. This work describes an adaptive control to compensate as far as possible for such defects in medium voltage direct current applications. The control was implemented and verified in Control Hardware in The Loop (CHIL) simulations at the real time simulator. Thanks to the simplicity of the algorithm, implementation on microcontrollers is easy and does not change the response speed.
