Modeling the vulnerabilities of components to natural threats is a fundamental pillar to address and quantify the resilience of systems to such events. In particular, advanced analytical models of component vulnerability to threats have an important advantage over statistical models: being less sensitive to classification errors, they can encourage the development of approaches and tools to support operators&#8217; choices in managing the electricity system. Among all natural threats, strong wind represents a very important cause of damage to HV and EHV lines, together with wet snow, in the Italian EHV network. This paper proposes analytical models to simulate the vulnerability of overhead lines to the direct and indirect effects of strong wind, considering three main line subcomponents, namely phase conductors, guard wires and pylons. The simulations performed on a set of HV and EHV lines of a portion of the Italian network demonstrate the ability of the model to quantify the benefit of specific measures to mitigate the vulnerability of the lines to strong winds.<\/p>\n","scarica_file":false,"link_estreno":[{"link_text":"Download Memory","link":""}],"button":{"text":"","link":""},"referente_group":false,"data_emissione":"2020-09-25","autori":"E.
