This method is applied here in a preliminary numerical demonstration of the simulation of the field experiment of the Kagerplassen embankment collapse at 1:1 scale. The geometries of the granular media and the reservoir are developed based on the available measurements through an analytical procedure. The results are provided in terms of: 3D fluid dynamic fields (vehicle interfaces and speed); hydrographs (time series) for the level of materials involved (maximum elevation), flow rate, cumulative volumes and velocity.
