Therefore, the need arose for standardization activities to regulate the industrial aspects of superconductivity; based on these premises, the Technical Committee (Comitato Tecnico, CT) 90 was created within the Italian Electrotechnical Committee (CEI).<br \/>\nCEI Magazine is the magazine that CEI publishes online monthly. In each issue a column is devoted to one of the currently active Technical Committees, and for the November\/December issue CT90 \u2018Superconductivity\u2019 was selected. The text of the article is divided into two parts: the first deals with LTS materials, and the second with MgB2 and HTS materials.
