These events have a strongly negative effect on the operation of distribution and transmission lines, affecting a large number of users. All published climate projections show a progressive increase in the number and intensity of these phenomena. In order to limit the impacts on the continuity of electricity supply, we need to study these phenomena in greater depth. In particular, the accumulation of ice on overhead conductors appears to be the phenomenon with the greatest impact on the network.
