An opportunity to explore and plan the use of renewable energy resources comes from geospatial data derived from satellite acquisitions. The European Earth observation program Copernicus provides numerous datasets with an Open Science approach. This paper presents multiple datasets offered by Copernicus services, analyzing their properties in relation to their use for energy system analysis, with a particular focus on renewable energies.
