By integrating multiple energy carriers such as electricity, heat, and gas, multi-energy systems enable synergies between various energy sources and technologies, leading to improved overall system performance and flexibility.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>However, the management of these systems requires the development and testing of novel approaches and technologies with limitations due to the need to provide energy to users. To overcome this drawback, experimental networks serve as invaluable testbeds for exploring innovative technologies and strategies aimed at enhancing the efficiency, reliability, flexibility, and sustainability of heating systems.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This paper deals with the development and implementation of an experimental facility for district heating networks with flexibility in configuration and operation and the capability to operate under new-generation conditions.
