This paper presents a framework for reliability and resilience (R&amp;R)-oriented planning and operation of hybrid AC\/DC power systems, enabling the assessment and comparison of candidate HVDC architectures in terms of adequacy, security and resilience. The paper also describes optimization and simulation tools used to quantify adequacy, security, and resilience-related key performance indicators (KPIs).
