With regard to the residential sector, the report aims to extend the analyses carried out on &#8220;energy metabolism&#8221; by integrating the studies carried out in the previous three years of research with the development of two in-depth studies.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The first study aims to evaluate the energy and economic impact of a gradual replacement and efficiency of the household appliances present in households, using as input data three ISTAT datasets duly aggregated into a single reference matrix, the core from which begins the modeling of scenarios up to 2030. TThe objective of the second study is the assessment of the energy and economic benefits of energy efficiency improvements of existing Italian buildings.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This study shows how the electrification of heating and cooling consumption for renovated and newly built homes leads to final energy savings of 6.6 Mtoe, or -21% compared to 2020 consumption. In addition to the residential sector, the concept of Positive Energy District is analyzed with the aim of providing an analysis method for developing a PED with renewable technology solutions. As a case study, a real Milan neighborhood was reconstructed through a BIM in order to simulate the energy consumption profiles of buildings before and after the introduction of energy efficiency measures. With the hypothesized interventions, it appears possible to achieve energy savings of 2505 MWh\/year while avoiding the emission of 2209 tons of CO2. Finally, two economic scenarios were developed.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Finally, for the tertiary sector, both the public sector, with specific attention to the Public Education sector, and the private sector were considered.
