","post_status":"publish","comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","post_password":"","post_name":"energy-efficiency-of-industrial-products-and-processes-2","to_ping":"","pinged":"","post_modified":"2024-08-09 15:54:00","post_modified_gmt":"2024-08-09 13:54:00","post_content_filtered":"","post_parent":0,"guid":"https:\/\/www.rse-web.it\/progetti\/energy-efficiency-of-industrial-products-and-processes-2\/","menu_order":0,"post_type":"progetti","post_mime_type":"","comment_count":"0","filter":"raw"},"order_posts":"","dont_show_search":false,"related_posts":false,"dont_show_hompage":false,"show_on_slider":false,"single_post_data":{"titolo_spot":"","post_content":"<p>This paper reports the summary of the results of the research activities that project 1.6 conducted under the Lines of Activity concluded in 2021 in order to promote the spread of energy efficiency in the industrial sector under a transition economy.<br \/>\nThe issue of energy efficiency in the industrial sector is shaping up to be strategic for the coming decades, and inextricably linked to both international and national energy and environmental policy issues, as confirmed by the European Directive on Energy Efficiency 2018\/2002. Similarly to digitization, the issue of energy efficiency is also one of the levers envisaged by the EU guideline for the decarbonization of the economy within the Green New Deal, understood as a green pact with businesses and citizens, which considers environmentally sustainable development as an opportunity and an integral part of the country&#8217;s economic engine. Thanks to RSE&#8217;s decades of expertise on these issues, important research on energy efficiency in industry has been actualized in this project, in support of both the energy policies of public institutions (MISE &#8211; Italian Ministry of Economic Development, MITE &#8211; Italian Ministry of Ecological Transition, ARERA, etc.) and the promotion of energy consumption reduction projects fostered by other stakeholders (Confindustria, trade associations, GSE, etc.), as well as the dissemination of best practices in the business and service world, with a view to facilitating the full implementation of energy and environmental policies. Furthermore, studies have been conducted for experimental assessment of efficient technologies within industrial processes. Analyses on convenience, application potential, and future market penetration potential of Italian industries and energy-efficient production processes have been conducted, with particular reference to widely used or energy intensive products\/services, leading to the definition of sector road maps and hydrogen penetration scenarios. The potential of innovative systems for exploiting the geothermal resource has been proposed and evaluated ex ante. Tools for ex ante assessment of the profitability of thermal waste enhancement for district heating use have been implemented. A membrane module for the efficient production of technical gases has been prepared as well. Finally, research has led to the creation of prototypes for monitoring industrial emissions and monitored technical regulations.
