This deliverable outlines the activities that RSE undertakes in support of institutions and industries in the field of research and innovation within the electrical system. The year 2021 was particularly significant in this regard, as it marked the launch of Phase 2 of the Mission Innovation initiative. As in the first phase, Italy, particularly through RSE under the mandate of the Ministry for Ecological Transition (MITE), plays a key role by coordinating the Green Powered Future Mission, which aims to accelerate the transition to sustainable energy systems. Mission Innovation is not the only area where RSE actively supports institutions and industries under MITE’s directive: \u2666 RSE chairs and actively participates in the activities of ISGAN, an initiative of the Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) and one of the Technology Collaboration Programmes (TCP) of the International Energy Agency (IEA). ISGAN aims to create a strategic forum to promote the dissemination of information and solutions for the innovation of the electrical system, raising awareness at the governmental level. \u2666 RSE represents Italy and participates (along with ENEA) in the work of the IEA Wind TCP Steering Committee, and within this, it is a member for Italy in Task 11 Base Technology Information Exchange. The TCP Wind promotes cooperative research activities on key topics related to the development and dissemination of wind technology, also serving as an international forum for discussion and sharing. \u2666 RSE coordinates the EERA Joint Programme on Smart Grids, which aims to harmonize the research themes of different research centers across Europe, allowing participants to share technical and scientific information and results on cutting-edge topics in the field of Smart Grids. \u2666 RSE participates in the IEA’s Committee on Energy Research and Technology (CERT) as Vice-Chair and in the Working Party on Energy End-Use Technologies (EUWP), where it holds the Vice-Chairmanship for the integrated electrical system track. \u2666 RSE supports the Italian government in the G20, particularly in 2021 during Italy’s Presidency (under the mandate of MiTE and MAECI). \u2666 Finally, under the mandate of MiSE, RSE provides technical support to the Italian delegation in the G7.<\/p>\n
Collaboration in international contexts plays a crucial role in the innovation of the electrical system, as it facilitates the effective exchange of information, ideas, and knowledge, thereby accelerating the development and adoption of innovative solutions.
