Key elements of this new management approach include promoting both individual and collective self-consumption of energy from renewable sources, using electricity for efficient thermal consumption to reduce local emissions, encouraging electric mobility, and potentially providing energy and services to the grid, resulting in tangible benefits for both the user and the grid.<\/p>\n<p>To support this transition, the project focuses on promoting energy efficiency through the adoption of intelligent consumption optimization systems and the improvement of high-temperature heat pump technology with ejectors for heating and domestic hot water (DHW) production.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding the promotion of energy efficiency in the residential sector, the activities carried out, as described in this report, have led to the completion of the EffE &#8220;all-electric&#8221; laboratory, including the installation of appliances, systems, and the measurement and control system. The laboratory will enable testing of the functions of the SEM smart energy management system, which is based on Predictive Control and Machine Learning techniques. Additionally, concerning collective self-consumption, an analysis of various potential schemes has been conducted in light of recent supportive regulatory provisions. Specifically, for the case of condominium self-consumption with a photovoltaic (PV) system and storage, the functions and complex architecture of the management tool for this type of scheme have been detailed and will be developed further.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, in the direction of improving heat pump technology, following an in-depth assessment of the capability of numerical models\u2014both lumped parameter and thermofluid dynamic models\u2014to describe ejector behavior, an integrated model has been defined to account for the mutual interactions between the ejector and the heat pump cycle.
