This transition will not be without difficulties for the freight transport and the logistics sector, which play a strategic role in achieving the country&#8217;s medium and long-term decarbonisation objectives.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The analysis of mobility, due to its strong and articulated connections with the territory, the population and the economy, just to mention the macro-aspects, requires tools and approaches that are able, not just to provide &#8220;the solution\u201d, but also to propose a range of measures that are able to mitigate the critical aspects of the problem. The decision maker will, then, choose one of the solutions proposed or a combination of them.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>RSE has developed an approach called STORM (Strategies TOwaRds a Sustainable Mobility) which allows to define potential sustainable mobility interventions and measures starting from a reference situation. These measures are evaluated considering the possible effects and the transport, energy, environmental and economic aspects. STORM is based on the VISUM transport model, equipped with a specific road graph, both urban and referring to a larger territory. The model associates, in time and space, the demand with the supply of mobility, based on a modal choice algorithm. This algorithm considers various factors (travel time, cost and availability) and provides different options, depending on whether it is an urban or long-distance mobility scenario.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>An important part of the activity of the current three-year research is aimed at developing a new multimodal model for freight transport. The creation of the model and the simulation of the reference scenario are the objective of the activity: both the offer, with the reconstruction of the road network, the railway network and the naval routes, and the demand for goods mobility, through the definition of an overall origin\/destination matrix, are defined.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Finally, the merge of offer and demand made it possible to simulate the traffic flows on road arches, on railways and on the sea, representative of the current situation as a starting point for the scenario analysis of the following year of research.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, a second activity was carried out, closely linked to the one of the previous years, aimed at completing the study on the number of charging infrastructures necessary in order to satisfy the demand for electric vehicles expected by 2030 for long-distance travel, with a focus on main extra-urban roads.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Starting from an analysis of the &#8220;attractiveness&#8221; of the Service Areas, in accordance with what was done for motorway traffic, it was possible to estimate the number of vehicles in charge and the energy required during peak hours on a weekday, thus defining a first theoretical sizing of the infrastructure, which should include approximately 22,628 150 kW charging points.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong> The document is available on the site in Italian<\/strong><\/p>\n","link_estreno":false,"scarica_file":false,"button":{"text":"","link":""},"referente_group":false,"data_emissione":"2023-12-31","autori":"F.
