    AFTER project: Threats vulnerabilities and risk analysis in the management of Power System security

    La presentazione riassume le attività del progetto europeo di ricerca AFTER, relativamente alla valutazione del rischio di esercizio del sistema elettrico a partire delle minacce e delle vulnerabilità del sistema elettrico, considerando le incertezze di risposta del sistema.

    The presentation summarizes the activities of the European research project AFTER, with respect to the risk assessment of PS operation. Risk assessment considers the probabilistic models of threats and vulnerabilities of the electrical system. From these models, the probabilistic models of contingencies are derived, both single and multiple (in which the latter take into account geographical and functional dependencies).

    The evaluation of the system’s response to the contingencies is also evaluated in a probabilistic way, taking into account uncertainties about the behaviour of protection systems and delays in operator control actions. The latter are aimed to countering cascading phenomena. The evaluations also consider aspects of uncertainty about the forecast state of operation. Finally, a methodology is proposed aimed at assessing the vulnerability of the system with respect to cyber security.
