    An Innovative Tool for Probabilistic Risk Assessment of Power and ICT System Subjected to Wide Area Disturbances Due to Weather/Environment Events

    Lo scopo di questa presentazione è descrivere lo strumento e le sue novità, con particolare attenzione alla possibilità sia di includere modelli probabilistici di diversi tipi di minacce nelle analisi della sicurezza, sia di valutare gli effetti di diversi fattori (penetrazione rinnovabili, protezioni e degli operatori ritardo) sul rischio di esercizio del sistema elettrico.

    The power system is vulnerable to both natural and man related threats, which may lead to wide-spread blackouts. To address these issues a probabilistic risk assessment methodology and tool are developed within the EU research project AFTER, co-funded by the European Commission – Seventh Framework Program. The aim of this presentation is to describe the tool and its novelties, with special focus on the possibility both to include probabilistic models of different types of threats in security analyses, and to evaluate the effects of several factors (renewable penetration, protections and operators’ delay) on the risk of operating a power system.
