Nel presente lavoro sono stati analizzati gli effetti di diverse simulazioni meteorologiche sulle previsioni di qualità dell’aria del modello CAMx relative ad un episodio di inquinamento acuto verificatosi nella regione Veneto durante l’inverno 2017.

ARPAV and RSE are running CAMx model version 6.3 along the Po Valley with the same resolution (4 km) but different domain. RSE domain covers the whole Italian peninsula whereas ARPAV domain includes the region of Veneto and part of its neighboring regions. Emissions and meteorological input are also different.

The two operational modelling systems have been compared against a set of meteorological and air quality stations located in Veneto region. One of the most critical episodes of PM10 in the last ten years, occurred during winter 2017, was selected for the intercomparison. The period of investigation ranges from 18 January to 7 February 2017. The observed differences between model predictions are likely to be ascribed principally to the different meteorological input.
