In October the new edition of “Scuola Odori 2024”

The program includes four sessions of four hours each, three of which are open to the general public (Oct. 1, 3 and 8) and one aimed at SNPA laboratories and Public Administration offices (Oct. 10) working in the field of odors.

 

The new edition of the ‘Scuola Odori 2024’ [smell school], organized by RSE and ISPRA, in collaboration with SNPA – Sistema Nazionale per la Protezione dell’Ambiente [Italian national system for environmental protection], Uni, Accredia, Unichim, takes place from October 1 to 10.

 

The theme of management, control and monitoring of odorous emissions is of constant topicality, as it directly involves the quality of the environment and the protection of the health of the population. The proposed initiative continues the experiences and the path started in the past, aimed at increasing knowledge in the subject within both SNPA operators and private operators.

 

The program of this edition includes four sessions of four hours each, three of which are open to the general public (October 1, 3 and 8) and one aimed at SNPA laboratories and Public Administration offices (October 10) working in the field of odors.

 

TheThe event will be completely free of charge, carried out via webinar, and a certificate of participation will be issued upon request.

 

The four sessions will cover different topics:

  1. Technological innovations and regulations (IED update and BAT publication)
  2. National, European and international legislation guidelines on the subject
  3. Innovative equipment
  4. Experiences and technologies for sampling
  5. Experiences and technologies for olfactometric analysis
  6. Monitoring via IOMS – Functionality and Training
  7. Insight on Arpa [Italian regional agency for the environmental protection] olfactometric laboratories
  8. Considerations (on possible themes) on national questionnaire
  9. Case studies

 

Interested laboratories, researchers, companies, universities, and SNPA (ISPRA, ARPA/APPA) and Public Administration operators are therefore invited to submit an abstract related to their proposed speech for the event by July 31, 2024.

 

The abstract shall be no more than one page long, in ‘odl’ or ‘docx’ format, and shall contain topic of interest (among those mentioned above), title, authors, their affiliation, and summary, and shall be sent to emilab@rse-web.it.

 

By August 13, 2024, the scientific committee of the event will inform the selected authors and draw up the final program.
