Faraday Cage Laboratory (250 kV ac – 200 kV dc)

The laboratory performs diagnostic tests on materials/components of medium voltage electrical equipment.

The facility consists of two Faraday Cages shielded against electric fields and magnetic fields in which the following dielectric tests, whether research, routine or type testing, are performed on materials or components used in the construction of medium voltage electrical equipment:

measurement of partial discharges
measurement of radio interference level
measurement of capacitance and dielectric losses (tgδ)
