DESCRIPTION
The dataset was created by collecting videos of HV insulators and measurements of their respective leakage currents. Four types of insulators are studied: Composite, Glass, Coated Glass, Partially Coated Glass. These are insulators decommissioned from operation that show signs of aging and wear. During the experiment, they were contaminated with saline solution and brought to discharge by applying increasing voltages. The filming was carried out in a small test chamber at the RSE laboratories. The dataset consists of videos of varying duration in .mp4 and .mxg format, recorded by two cameras with different frame rates: one operating exclusively in the visible range (25 fps) and the other also equipped with a thermal sensor (9 fps). Leakage current measurements were acquired with a sampling rate of 20 µs; the files have a .csv extension.
 
 

APPLICATIONS
Visual study of the discharge phenomenon on different types of insulators (Composite, Glass, Coated Glass, Partially Coated Glass) through analysis of video frames and the possibility to analyze the leakage currents that produced them.
