DAB converter discrete ADRC control into real-time CHIL simulation of a MVDC/LVDC power grid

The Active Disturbance Rejection Control (ADRC) is implemented on a commercial microcontroller to control a Dual Active Bridge converter powered by a medium voltage DC grid.

A real-time Control Hardware In the Loop system is successfully implemented, and the performance achieved is comparable to results from equivalent conventional offline simulations. ADRC proves to be a robust control strategy for converters in a distribution network, and Control Hardware In the Loop confirms itself as a valid technique for conducting simulations on power electronic systems.
