Electric charging, RSE takes stock at Recanati Smart Land

Intervention on the private charging of electric vehicles by RSE Transmission and Distribution Technologies Department.

Efficiency and energy transition, CER, e-mobility and industry 5.0 are just some of the topics explored in depth during the third edition of Recanati Smart Land, the event which took place on 4 and 5 July. Giuseppe Mauri participated as a representative of RSE. He is Head of the Research Group ‘ICT technologies for IT management and security of T&D networks’ at RSE Transmission and Distribution Technologies Department, which opened a chapter on the importance of private charging of electric cars for providing flexibility services to the electricity system .

Giuseppe Mauri explored in depth several issues related to private EV charging and highlighted some goals the attainment of which is a priority in order to enhance the spread of electric mobility. One of them is the need to limit the peaks in energy demand caused by simultaneous charging requests, in order to respect the network constraints as well as allow users to regulate the charging power according to the available energy (possibly coming from a renewable source).

It was the occasion for presenting the available technological solutions for engaging domestic and private charging infrastructures in the provision of network services, and also to provide a snapshot of the first results of the ongoing RSE experimentation.
