Contributing to the standardization of processes and methods for the use of alternative fuels for electricity generation.

  • Provide a classification of the different types of existing recovered fuels, including RDF from municipal solid waste and RDF from industrial processing waste;
  • Define technical standards for the chemical, physical and product characterization of low-grade fuels;
  • Assess the environmental impact of the use of low-grade fuels in terms of the generation of residues classified as hazardous waste and an increase in pollutants in emissions;
  • Evaluate certain plant implications (boiler fouling) related to the use of low-grade fuels in single or mixed combustion with coal in thermal power plants for electricity generation.
