RSE at the IFEC Conference to Discuss CER

Innovation and Sustainability at the Heart of the Debate.

On the occasion of the “Fourth National Conference on Energy Communities: From Operational Rules to the Development of Local Projects,” held in Rome on November 27, Franco Cotana, CEO of RSE, discussed the future developments of self-consumption and Energy Communities (CER).

The event, organized by IFEC and hosted at the GSE Auditorium, saw the participation of experts, institutions, and industry operators. In his presentation titled “Innovative Developments for Widespread Self-Consumption,” Cotana introduced territorial analysis tools developed by RSE, emphasizing the importance of advanced technologies and clear rules to facilitate shared self-consumption and optimize benefits for local communities.

Special emphasis was placed on comparing European experiences, such as in Germany and the Netherlands, and on the implementation of advanced CER configurations in the Italian context. Cotana concluded his intervention by looking ahead, outlining how RSE is working on advanced functionalities for CERs to accelerate the country’s energy transition.

The conference served as a moment for discussion and planning, strengthening the role of CERs as a key element for energy sustainability in Italy.
