A review of electrochemical methods for investigating microbial corrosion just published in Corrosion Science Journal

A study by RSE’s Sustainable Development and Energy Sources Department.

The new publication, titled “Fundamentals and critical appraisal of electrochemical techniques for investigating microbial corrosion”, is available open-access in the Elsevier Journal “Corrosion Science”.

The work is the result of the collaboration of Pierangela Cristiani, RSE Sustainable Development and Energy Sources Department, with several international specialists, including Régine Basseguy (CNRS, Toulose, FR), Digby Macdonald (Berkeley University, US), Tingyue GU (Ohio University, US) , Dawei Zhang (University of Science and Technology Beijing, China), Julian Wharton (University of Southampton, UK), Dake Xu (Northeastern University, Shenyang, China), and offers an updated and extended overview of electrochemical methods applied to the study of microbiological corrosion, highlighting the innovations and critical issues that persist in exploring, at different scale (micro and macro), surfaces affected by the action of biological microorganisms.
