    Developing semiconductor materials and devices and photovoltaic technologies of interest to the energy system. Developing the concentrating photovoltaic supply chain and related test methods.

     

    ACTIVITY FIELDS

    • Development of innovative multi-junction cells for low- and high-concentration photovoltaics and thermo-photovoltaics
    • Development of concentrating system components (optics, receiver, tracker, inverter) and prototypes of concentration modules and systems
    • Development of characterization methods for concentration cells and modules
    • Laboratory and field testing of concentrating prototype systems
    • Development of new MJ cell fabrication processes, including the application of nanotechnology
