A seminar in Milan on new electrochemical techniques

The meeting was held at RSE office with Professor Hüsnü Gerengi of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Duzce University in Turkey.

On July 23rd, as part of the COST ACTION CA20130 “European MIC Network – New paths for science, sustainability and standards (Euro-MIC)”, Hüsnü Gerengi, Professor of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Duzce University in Turkey, visited RSE and delivered a seminar on using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy for characterizing the stability of metal surfaces and protective coatings, including oxides and coatings.

Prof. Hüsnü Gerengi, who has been one of the representative members of Turkey in the International Corrosion Council (ICC) since 2015, is the first researcher who used the dynamic electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (DEIS) method in corrosion inhibitor studies.

The seminar attracted considerable interest and was attended by several researchers and doctoral students from the Politecnico di Milano and the University of Milano. The event concluded in the afternoon with a visit to the RSE electrochemical laboratories, showcasing new electrochemical techniques.
