An interactive map of Italy that is aimed at operators of electric vehicle charging infrastructure and allows them to identify the gas stations, on urban and suburban roads, best suited to their installation needs. It is the new digital tool developed by E-Distribuzione, a company that manages the country’s largest electricity distribution network, and RSE – Ricerca sul Sistema Energetico, a company engaged in analysis, study and applied research in the energy sector. This map will provide CPOs (Charging Point Operators) with qualitative information on the refueling areas present in the more than 7,400 Italian municipalities where E-Distribuzione manages the grid. The initiative was created to accelerate the Italian National Recovery and Resilience Plan, which reserves seven hundred million in funding for the encouragement of electric mobility on the Italian territory.

Leveraging the data on the more than 17,600 traditional gas stations served by E-Distribuzione on the country’s urban and suburban roads, the online tool provides an information framework for possible requests for connection in both low (100 kW) and medium voltage (350 kW). The qualitative assessment and the extent of interventions required for the installation of charging infrastructure are indicated by three different colors – dark green, light green and gray – that identify, among other things, the possible need to initiate additional and specific authorization practices.
