The conference organized on the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of the death of Enrico Mattei, an emblematic figure for the Italian energy sector, took place on October 27 in Matelica. The event was attended by the CEO of RSE Franco Cotana, who underlined the importance of the diversified energy policy model, inspired by Mattei’s strategic vision.

During his speech, Cotana drew a parallel with the strategy adopted by Mattei, which focused on the energy mix of coal, oil, natural gas, imported electricity and renewable sources, mainly hydropower and biomass. This vision accompanied and supported the Italian economic boom of the 1960s and 1970s.

The meeting was an opportunity to underline the importance of a renewed national energy plan to reduce dependence on foreign countries and guarantee stability in Italy.
