RSE at the International Forum on Pumped Storage Hydropower

Focus on the strategic role of Seasonal Pumped Storage Hydropower (SPSH) in securing both energy and water systems.

During the session “Enhancing Climate Resilience and Water Security” at the International Forum on Pumped Storage, held at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris on 9-10 September, Antonella Frigerio, Deputy Director of the Sustainable Development and Energy Sources Department at RSE, emphasized the importance of:

  • raising awareness of Sustainable Pumped Storage Hydropower (SPSH);
  • facilitating dialogue and potential collaboration between the water and hydropower sectors;
  • exploring the role of Pumped Storage Hydropower (PSH) as a sustainable, long-term solution for balancing energy production with water security.

RSE is proud to have taken part in this high-level international event and to have signed The Paris Pledge, which was formally presented on 11 September by a delegation to the European Commission in Brussels.

This milestone reflects RSE’s strong commitment to supporting research, innovation, and the development of technologies based on renewable resources and advanced storage systems.
