The future of energy at the center of the 80th ATI National Congress

Focus on the energy performance of Villa Farnesina.

Within the 2025-2027 Ricerca di Sistema project “High-efficiency buildings for the energy transition” RSE participated in the 80th National Congress of the Italian Thermotechnics Association (ATI), held in Benevento from September 10th to 12th.

During the event, the PhD student from Parthenope University of Naples Riccardo Serafino presented the contribution titled “A data-driven retrofit framework for historic buildings: the case study of Villa Farnesina in Rome”. The study analyzed the energy performance of Villa Farnesina through the creation of an energy model calibrated on real consumption data. Once validated, the model allows for the identification of energy and environmental retrofit solutions compatible with the building’s historical and cultural value, with the aim of combining energy efficiency, sustainability, and the conservation of historic heritage.
