The international workshop “Advancing power and hydrogen synergies through technologies, policies and global collaboration” will be held in February

A joint event organized by Green Powered Future Mission (GPFM) and Clean Hydrogen Mission (CHM).

On 4 and 5 February 2026, from 13:00 to 15:10 CET, the Green Powered Future Mission (GPFM) and Clean Hydrogen Mission (CHM) of Mission Innovation, with the support RSE, will organize the international online workshop “Advancing power and hydrogen synergies through technologies, policies and global collaboration” hosted by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Japan.

The 2 day workshop will focus on cutting edge innovative solutions to enable next generation energy systems based on renewable power and green hydrogen, as well as on the latest developments in policy and standardization frameworks supporting the energy transition.

The event will bring together representatives from international organizations, governments, industry, research centers, and academia, including IRENA, IEA, IPHE (International Partnership for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells in the Economy), and the Clean Hydrogen Partnership, as well as members of the GPFM and CHM coalitions.

Luciano Martini, Director of the Green Powered Future Mission and Director of the Generation Technologies and Materials Department at RSE, will speak in the opening and closing sessions alongside the Clean Hydrogen Mission Director Piero Venturi, contributing to the discussion on power–hydrogen integration perspectives and will moderate one of the panel discussions. On the second day, Giovanna Dondossola, Research Project Manager at the Transmission and Distribution Technologies Department, will deliver a presentation entitled “Role of IEC TC 57 standards in the energy transition”.

The workshop is open to the public and will be held live-streamed via the WebEx platform.

The event recordings will be made available to registered participants for a limited period.
