The RSE study on the social cost of carbon

The analysis of the Department of Sustainable Development and Energy Sources.

The article entitled ‘Valuing the Social Cost of Carbon. Do economists really care about climate change?’ by Andrea Molocchi of RSE Sustainable Development and Energy Sources Department, published in the scientific journal Economics and Policy of Energy and the Environment, published by Franco Angeli, is online.

The purpose of the article is to review the scientific literature on the social cost of carbon of the last decade to identify and discuss the best values representing the external costs of CO2 emissions, calculated using a damage assessment approach, for use in cost-benefit analysis and other applications of external costs, such as environmental life-cycle analysis (LCA).
