Electrical Drives, Automation and Motion Energy storage battery aging: general methodology and examples of application

The article describes a methodology for analyzing the aging of electrochemical storage systems and reports the results of the aging tests carried out on three lithium-ion cells to validate it.

The article describes a broad and comprehensive methodology for testing and analyzing the aging mechanisms of electrochemical accumulators, the aim of which is to extend the life of energy storage systems through non-stressful battery management and through the improvement of cell materials. The methodology was preliminary applied to three lithium-ion cells and the test results are summarized and commented in the paper.
