Further applications of Cu2FeSnS4 monograins in the energy sector

Preliminary study of the potentialities of Cu2FeSnS4 (CFTS) mono-grains as anodes for sodium ion batteries.

This report integrates the activity described in the RdS deliverable 22014097 and test further applications in the energy sector of monocrystalline grains of Cu2FeSnS4 (CFTS). This compound has been synthesized in collaboration with TalTech, a research center in Tallinn, for photovoltaic applications in thin film solar cells made starting from Mono-Grain Layer (MGL) technology.

In this report are resumed the testing activity carried out on the same material for another fundamental technology to push the de-carbonization of the electric system, the electrochemical storage devices. From an internal collaboration between RSE researchers of the RdS 1.01 and 1.02 projects, preliminary studies were carried out to understand the real potential of these single crystals as anode materials in electrochemical storage devices based on sodium ions.
