The report describes the activities related to the design of the monitoring and protection system and the installation of the conductors and substations of the medium voltage extension of the Test Facility (TF). The development of the third terminal of the DC microgrid in the TF is also presented.

The report covers the activities related to the design of the monitoring and protection system, installation of conductors and substations for the medium voltage upgrade of the test facility.
The development of the third terminal of the direct current (DC) microgrid in the TF is also presented. For the multi-terminal demonstrator with multiple voltage levels, the activities included the laying of the MV grid, and connection with MV/LV substations. A possible coordination of the protection devices based on logical selectivity was evaluated and the calibration and intervention characteristics of the installed protection devices were defined. For the low-voltage DC distribution grid, the third terminal of the microgrid was designed and built in such a way as to allow the development and testing of new control functions. Once the multi-terminal hybrid AC/DC MV/LV grid was available, the system was commissioned.
