tracker Structure for development testing

Figure 63 shows the APOLLON tracker system as installed during the project for development testing and for
testing of the fnal modules. As shown in the fgure there is a version with a large frame and a version with a small
frame. This tracker uses a different foundation and column (derived from a previously existing tracker) but from
the point of view of tracker control it is identical to the 5-module APOLLON tracker and to the Full tracker (shown
in the next chapter).

Column for the tracker

Figure 64 shows the column for the APOLLON trackers. The column is made in zinc-plated steel, polygonal, with
12 sides, conical, wall thickness 5 mm, height 3.67 m, and structurally dimensioned for wind loads up to 140 km/h
2
acting on a panel of 90 m . The column mass is 545 kg. The top fange has an outer diameter of 690 mm, a thickness
of 30 mm and an interface compatible with the rotation device DAD-8-659 from TGB (see next paragraph).
The bottom fange has an outer diameter of 1,200 mm, a thickness of 30 mm and an interface suitable for 6 micro
screw bars of diameter 51 mm placed on a diameter of 1 m.
