RESEARCH GROUP MISSION

Studying and implementing innovative control methods and systems and developing operating procedures for industrial energy plants, end-user aggregates, local energy communities, and utility networks (electricity, gas, etc.).

ACTIVITY FIELDS

  • Development of design support tools and methods, particularly modeling for static and dynamic simulation
  • Studies on the flexible operation of generating units, for the purpose of network control in the presence of non-programmable generators
  • Development of innovative control systems, with emphasis on applications in LV and MV active networks
  • Experimentation of control systems on pilot plants (test facilities) and in the field
  • Study and experimentation of active network operation methods (virtual power plant, island operation)
  • Performance and lifetime characterization of electrochemical storage systems for stationary and vehicular applications
  • The study of electrochemical storage systems for stationary and vehicular applications
  • Innovative methods of control, management and diagnostics of electrochemical storage systems
  • Optimized control and management of Vehicle to Grid applications, end-user aggregates, energy communities
  • Simulation, control and management of ‘multi-energy’ systems, with integrated operation of electricity, heat, fuels and mobility
