The challenges

Being competitive and innovative in an industry as dynamic as energy is critical. The evolution of the energy context requires an open mind and a willingness to move away from established practices to embrace new ideas and innovative approaches.

L’Open Innovation also implies the integration of different ideas and skills, both internal and external, to foster effective debate, the true driver of innovation.

RSE’s Open Innovation pathway is marked by several challenges:

  • A cultural and organizational change is significant. It is important to identify internal points of resistance and develop strategies to address it.
  • The endorsement of top management is essential to support the process.
  • The direct involvement of researchers who can move and engage with each other in a collaborative environment, through active participation and with free and voluntary commitment.
  • The involvement of stakeholders, as a basis for understanding their needs and sharing innovative proposals.
  • An ongoing commitment, to establish a strong collaborative network, an integrated and cross-cutting approach that considers all dimensions of RSE’s knowledge and the diverse needs of the energy context.
