Pan European Technology Energy Research Approach

PANTERA is a Coordination and Support Action (CSA) that aims to set-up an European Forum composed by R&I policy makers, R&I actors and experts in the field of smart grids, storage and local energy systems that can represent all EU member states.

The goal of the project is to foster the evolution towards a truly integrated pan-European R&I community with a high level of synergies. In its development the project will devote special effort to include the countries less involved in European level initiatives and projects.

Objectives:

  • Identify R&I stakeholders active in the fields of smart grids, storage and local energy systems including policy makers, standardisation bodies and experts in both research and academia representing the whole EU and establish effective communication links and potential collaboration.
  • Develop an enhanced knowledge-sharing mechanism that will help to identify, discuss and address the key R&I challenges in the field of smart grids.
  • Develop a European multi-functional collaborative platform through which ready-made tools will facilitate the collection of data and results from on-going projects and initiatives. Build a useful shareable data repository (as a virtual stakeholder’s hub) to collect case studies, exploitable results, scenarios and local energy system analysis to be accessible to all interested stakeholders.
  • Organise dedicated workshops to facilitate exchanges of experience and best practices among members of R&I community in collaboration with already on-going activities aiming to a broader participation in order to strengthen collaboration and maximize the potential impact of achieved results.

To achieve its objectives, PANTERA has developed the EIRIE interactive multifunctional platform EIRIE aimed to become a single point of reference for the EU Research & Innovation field of smart energy systems and technologies, in support of the energy transition towards a low carbon economy. In this view EIRIE is complementing the objective of setting up a European forum composed of Research & Innovation stakeholders, including policy makers, standardisation bodies and experts, representing the EU energy system.
