CIGRE – meeting for the Strategic Planning Advisory Group of Study Committee A3 in Milan

Focus of the Transmission and Distribution Technologies Department on RSE activities under the Mission Innovation Smart Grid project.

The international meeting of the Strategic Planning Advisory Group of the Study Committee A3 CIGRE – Transmission and Distribution Equipment was held in Milan on March 5.

The group, composed of the Study Committe (SC) Chairman and Secretary, working group conveners and other experts appointed by the Chairman, is responsible for discussing developments in electric power systems and the impact on electric power transmission and distribution equipment, updating the strategic plan, discussing proposals for new activities and coordination with other SCs, coordinating working groups and supporting them in both technical and organizational terms.

 

Topics discussed at the meeting included reviewing the progress of existing working groups and planning for those being established, collaboration with other SCs and other organizations, especially IEC and IEEE, Cigre Next Generation Network initiatives, organization of Session 2024 in Paris (tutorials, workshops, poster session, general discussion meeting, etc.) and the planning of 2025 activities.

 

During the event, RSE’s ongoing activities under the Mission Innovation Smart Grid project were presented.

RSE Transmission and Distribution Technologies Department participated in the event with the Head of the Research Group ‘Measurements and Diagnostics of T&D Components’ Paolo Mazza, convener of WG A3.50, ‘On-site calibration and verification of the accuracy of instrument transformers’ and Italian member of Study Committee A3, Chiara Gandolfi, Project Manager, who presented the ongoing activities in the Mission Innovation Smart Grid project, and Director Luciano Martini, who outlined the international initiatives of the Green Powered Future Mission.

 

The meetings took place at the RSE headquarters and CESI auditorium, which are responsible of the coordination and secretariat of the Italian panel of Study Committee A3, respectively, in the persons of Paolo Mazza and Roberto Nicolini.
