Evaluation of new TLC network architectures capable of integrating heterogeneous and public/private networks for energy applications

Private 5G networks are wireless networks that use 5G technology but are limited to a specific geographic area or group of users.
Private 5G networks represent the turning point of mobile telecommunications networks to support the objectives of vertical sectors.
A further important new paradigm is represented by Hybrid 5G networks, i.e. networks that offer the possibility of incorporating radio network functions different from each other.

Private 5G networks and 5G hybrid networks represent a new frontier in the evolution of wireless communications networks, offering several significant advantages for a wide range of industrial, commercial and institutional applications.

Private 5G networks are wireless networks that use 5G technology but are limited to a specific geographic area or group of users. These networks offer advantages such as higher speed, lower latency, greater security, and greater reliability than public networks or Wi-Fi. Private 5G networks can be used for industrial, commercial or institutional applications that require high-quality, customized connectivity.

Private 5G networks represent the turning point of mobile telecommunications networks to support the objectives of vertical sectors. They definitively free themselves from the application scenario that characterized the generations from 0G to 4G, i.e. support for high bit rate voice and data communication specifically designed for users (Mobile Broad Band). Private 5G consists of providing mobile wireless coverage with 5G technology to a private network scenario, such as for smart cities, for an industry or to manage a controlled management system, as in the case of integrated energy systems.

A further important new paradigm is represented by Hybrid 5G networks, i.e. networks that offer the possibility of incorporating radio network functions different from each other, then using them independently or jointly, to exploit the characteristics of each of them in synergy in the support of a usage scenario. Hybrid 5G also allows the integration of network technologies not standardized by 3GPP, thus allowing the coexistence not only of different generations of mobile cellular networks, such as 4G and 5G, or different extensions, but even technologies used in the IoT field.

The document illustrates some solutions for the study of hybrid networks integrated with the private 5G network present on the RSE campus.
